Thermal paper fax machines have their advantages and disadvantages. For many years these kinds of fax machines were the best there was because of the speed and which they operated. The problem comes when you compare them with the kinds that are on the market today.

When using them they have a chemical type smell that may bother some people. The other problem is that the page tend to curl up because the paper is fed from a roll. The reason for this is because they don't want to retrieve the document five years later only to find out that the paper is now fadded. Plain paper is best because it has a much better tendency to last a lot longer. You can also transfer your thermal paper faxs to plain paper by just copying them with a plain paper copier.

Thermal paper fax machines use to be the best. The key point here is that they "use to" be. Now the palin paper fax machines are better just because they tend to last longer and you don't need to worry about the fax being stored at the wrong temperature. Who wants to worry about losing a document just because you left it in your hot vehicle!
